Andrew’s Pitchfork

Andrew’s Pitchfork is a technical analysis tool used to identify potential support and resistance levels based on historical price movements. This tool is particularly valuable for trend analysis, helping traders forecast future price behavior by establishing key levels based on past price actions.

Overview of Andrew’s Pitchfork

Andrew’s Pitchfork consists of three parallel lines (the median line and two outer lines) that are drawn based on three significant price points (swing highs and lows). It helps traders visualize the trend direction and make informed trading decisions.

Key Components of Andrew’s Pitchfork

  1. Anchor Points: The pitchfork is created using three anchor points:

    • Point A: The starting point (the most recent significant swing low or high).
    • Point B: A second significant swing high or low.
    • Point C: A third significant swing high or low, which helps determine the pitchfork’s width.
  2. Median Line: The central line running through the anchor points serves as a reference for potential support and resistance levels.

  3. Upper and Lower Parallel Lines: These lines run parallel to the median line and indicate potential reversal zones or areas where the price may accelerate.
